Lisa, Mick & baby Sophie

Last weekend, one of my closest friends, Lisa, came over to our house for a quick photoshoot, as she wanted '1 or 2' photos of her and her husband Mick and their 8 month old princess, Sophie, to give to the 'fathers' in her life for Fathers day - her dad Rob, Micks dad John and maybe even a surprise photo for for Mick!

Well, Lisa, here are your '1 or 2' photos - they're all so gorgeous, I couldn't decide on just a few!

How adorable is Sophie!!! Lisa told me yesterday that she has cut her first tooth - what a shame we couldn't see it on Saturday, that would have made a cute photo!

You might remember Sophie from her 1st photoshoot - hasn't she changed!!
Lisa, I hope you and Mick and the 2 dads will be happy with these photos!

Christmas Photos

I know, its probably too early to think about Christmas Family Portraits, however my last shoot for the year will be late November, so I have time to edit and deliver all of the photos to you, for your Christmas gifts (I probably also be too big to do anything other than sit at my computer, come December!).
Apart from the normal portrait sessions (info on my website), this year I will be offering a Christmas Mini-session, which will take around 30 minutes, and you'll be provided with your choice of 10 high-res photo (from approx. 30 photos), plus a 6 x 4 Christmas Card file (choice of 10 card templates, edited with your details).
I'll be holding these mini-sessions in the Hills District of Sydney, on:
9am - 11.30am on Saturday 25th October & 2pm - 4.30pm on Saturday 1st November. If these days don't suit, please e-mail me for other dates / times, as I may add more sessions.
The cost of this mini session is $100 (inc GST), for the 10 photos + Christmas Card file. Additional images can be purchased for $20 each, or $250 for all of the edited photographs from the session.
An example of one of the Christmas Cards files is as follows:

I will still be offering my normal portrait sitting until the end of November, with guaranteed delivery of all images well before Christmas.
To book any of the above sessions, please e-mail lauren@tigerlilyphotography.com.au.
Is it too early to say Merry Christmas?!? HA!

Baby Jett

I must admit, I was a little nervous when Elecia e-mailed me to enquiry about photography for her 9 week old little boy.... what do 9 week old babies do?? They are more awake and alert than newborns, and are still fairly 'floppy', cant really hold their head up, etc. Elecia told me that Jett was a happy baby, normally really smiley and happy to please - to be honest I was wondering if this was just a typical proud 'mum' talking about her new bub, or was she telling the truth....

And then this little fella greeted me:

She was telling the truth! How absolutely adorable is little Jett! I could have just picked him up and driven away with him! Here are a few more photos from our shoot last weekend:

Kerwin & Jett

Elecia & Jett

Look at those toes!

Ok, so he did have a bit of a cry right at the very end of the shoot, but we did have about 3 hours of smiley, happy Jett!

Thank you Elecia & Kerwin for allowing me to come into your home to photograph your beautiful baby boy. Im sure I will be seeing you all again - you never know, if I have a baby girl, we may end up being in-laws! :)

Exciting News!!!

No, I don't know if I'm having a boy or girl yet (Doh!), but more exciting news... one of my closest friends in the world got engaged last night! Yea!!!! On ya, Shell-Bell! No plans have been made of course, but if I know Shell, it will be a beach wedding, or maybe a Hunter wedding? I know - how about Hamilton Island, Shell?!?!? One thing is for sure, I'm your wedding photographer. I'm so excited!!

Here is a photo of me & Shell taken on her 30th birthday weekend in Port Macquarie. This is the exact spot where Scott wanted to propose last night, but it was too cold for dear old Shell-Bell.. he he.

Love you all the world Shell, and Stu & I, Pepa & Chewy, and even little Daph, are so happy for you!

Finally.... photos from our trip to the snow!

These are the snow photos you’ve all been waiting for (yeah! I hear you scream!!). Here goes….

Me & Stu-baby

Trissana – the Lodge where we stayed. I was told that I was rather spoilt staying here my first time..... It was just beautiful. Had about 6 or 7 bedrooms, a bunch of bathrooms / toilets, a large kitchen, and meals / family area and a roaring open fire, much better heating than we have! I was warmer at 4am going to the loo, than I am at my house!

Just a cool tree - it freaks me out that it can be so bloody cold outside, with everything covered in snow, and a beautiful tree like this thrives!

The boys, from the left: Brett, Aaron, Micky, Stu & Ron. Don't they look tough?!

Down the mountain they go! I actually stood here secretly hoping for a stack or two - didn't happen :(

Jay-Man, one of the coolest 3 year-olds I know (My nephew Kye being the other). This kid ROCKS, and now is used to Auntie Lauren and her 'big camera' (that he learnt to use - looks like I have a new assistant!)

Stu & Jay

Jay learnt to ski at the 'Milo School'

Leader of the pack!

3 crazy people I decided to photograph, oh hang on, its the people that we stayed with! And im married to the hot one in the blue beanie!

Karen & I went on a chairlift - right to the top (no, we didn't get off, too cold and it was snowing!)

CRASH!

Perisher

Karen & Jay - and yes, that is snow falling in the photo!

Believe it or not, that is only the first day of photos....! More photos to come over the next few days.

I loved the snow!!

I'm baaaaack! LOVE the snow, even tho I didn't participate in the skiing, boarding, or schnapps drinking, it was amazing! I have over 400 photos to sift thru - no, I wont be posting all of them on here, but do hope to get some up by the weekend. I have 4 shoots lined up for the week (I know, CRAZY!), so between shoots & editing of those jobs, I'll get cracking on the snow photos!

Thanks for your messages, I know, its crazy that I had never seen snow before, but wow - it was awesome! So beautiful! Even with the Blizzard on Friday, it was still beautiful!

See ya.

A little girl and her horse

When I was a little girl, all I wanted was a horse. My mum had a horse when she was a little girl, so the precedent was set.... I thought it was extremely unfair that I wasn't allowed one... and wow, did I let mum and dad know! To keep me happy, on Sundays, my dad used to take me and my little brother to a little town called Schofields (which was a long, long drive from home) that was a Horse Riding Park, the 3 of us would hop on our 'borrowed' horses for the day, and ride the afternoon away.... This would keep me happy until about Wednesday, then I'd start the nagging again for the following weekend....

Enter Alecia. Not only was she was allowed to have horses when she was a child, she has also bought a horse for her daughter, Chelsea. Unfortunately Chelsea wasn't really the 'horsey' type, and was a little scared of her miniature horse, Lilly, and wouldn't ride her. Alecia asked me to come along to where Lilly, and Alecia's horse, Maverick, are kept (which, believe it or not, is the same Horse Park I used to ride at as a child... which is now 10 minutes from my house, and will be built out with new homes in about 5 years time!) to take some photos of the 'family' before Lilly was put on the market to be sold. Oh yea, Alecia also bought her fiance Daniel 'Don't make me have my photo taken' with them too....
Here are some photos of this beautiful horsey family.

Run Daniel, Run!

After about an hour, Daniel warmed up to the thought of having his picture taken. Isn't he gorgeous!

Daniel & Lilly

Alecia phoned me during the week to tell me that, after we were all out there together on Sunday, Chelsea has now decided to keep Lilly, and has started riding her! Oh yea, and Daniel warmed up to having his photo taken so much, he said I can be their wedding photographer! Score!
I wont be posting at all this week... hubby is taking me to see snow for the first time in my life, which I'm pretty excited about. I'll be back next weekend, but I'm sure I'll be exhausted, so I hope to post some photos from our holiday at Perisher sometime the week after next.
I'm also very excited that next week is the last week of July... which means Winter is almost over! Bring on Spring!
Thanks for reading.

Dude - the best Grandfather in the World!

Today marks the 2 year anniversary of the day the most beautiful man in the world - my grandfather - passed away. Friday July 21 2006 was the saddest day yet in my life, but (even tho I'm not too much of a believer of that kind of thing), I know he is in a better place, as his quality of life just wasn't there in the end. Dudes funeral, the following week, was a beautiful service, the sun came out at the right time, and then my dad (Dudes son-in-law), and one of Dudes closest friend, Uncle Jim, toasted Dude in the best possible way - with way too much McGuiggans Black Label.

Dude was called Dude after his love of horse racing - when I was little, they lived on a main road, and he would walk up and down this road, with me on his shoulders, singing 'Camptown Races sing this Song - Doo-Dah, Doo,Dah', so when I began to talk, to me - he was known as Doo-Dah. Now, I'm not sure when it became Dude - it was either when my younger brother couldn't say Doo-Dah, or it was the introduction of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - who doesn't think they're cool, when they're 10, and they call their grandfather Dude?!

Anyway, Dude was a pretty amazing man, lived a very full life, and was very, very loved by his small family. I wish sometimes I would have been one of Dudes friends, back 50 years ago, instead of his granddaughter - Dude was the kid of person who drove his car to Queensland on a holiday (which was a 2 day trip from Sydney, back then), and decided that he didn't want to drive home, so he sold his car, bought a small aeroplane, and flew home. Then, years later, while my mums family were on holiday on the Gold Coast, he left his wife and daughter on the beach, went for a walk, and bought a house at Auction. My nan, who was used to this (and a very patient woman!) , was like 'ok', so they moved into the home on Chevron Island for a few years. The storey's go on - on one of his trips back and forth from QLD, he offered to ship some baby crocodiles to Sydney, to be collected by Taronga Zoo. The croc's were kept in a cardboard box in their backyard.... and then in rained! Nan tells the story how she had to phone all the neighbours and ask if they had a baby crocodile in their backyard!

Dudes real name is Arthur Thomas, and I always said that if one day I have a little boy, I'll call him after Dude - No, not Arthur (thank god, I all hear you say!), but Thomas. Well, in about 6 weeks I'll know the sex of the little foetus in my belly, and if he's a boy, I hope he lives up to his namesake - the most beautiful man in the world.

Here are a few digital scrapbooking pages I did just after he passed away - I hope you can open them in full screen and read them. And yes, that is Dudes bum - like I said, he was a character!

RIP Dude - love you.

Baby '8'

A few weeks back, my brother and sister-in-law became parents again to a gorgeous little boy called Nate... or 'Baby 8' as their 3 year old son calls him! This was my first hold of my new nephew (taken with mums point & shoot): at my parents house, 3 days after he was delivered by caesarean(how quick is that!).

Yes, lunch was weight watchers shaved ham that day :)

Photoshop Friday

I saw a an e-mail today with a really cool trick on how to enhance the colour in your photos, in just a few steps. Check it out: Jessica Sprague - photo ShaZAM! Looks like if you post your ShaZAM'd photo to her blog, you go in the running to win a nifty little camera strap.. Im (hopefully) taking some beautiful photos at a picnic tomorrow - I might have to ShaZAM some of those photos!

Have a fab weekend!
